DM08 Shift Themes

So i know you are all wondering what the SHIFT THEMES are going to be for this year's Dance Marathon. If you didnt know, the event is broken up into 8 different 3-hour shifts, and then 2 1-hour shifts to start and end the event, each with a theme so that you can break up the 26 hours, change your clothing, and have some fun.
It is heavily suggested that you bring some sort of costume change for each shift, because it really connects you to the event and allows you to have some differentiation during the MARATHON. The overall theme for this year's Dance Marathon is:

DMLA: Big city. Bigger fight.

And the 10 shifts are...

11am-12pm... LAX: Welcome to the City of Angels
12-3pm.......... 90210: Clueless about the Cause? AS IF!
3-6pm............ DM is Beachin’: Dive into the Fight
6-9pm............ Hollywood: Lights, Camera, Take Action!
9pm-12am.... 1984 Olympics: Going the Extra Mile in Style
12-3am.......... Sunset Strip: Club DM: Dance all Night, Dance for Life
3-6am............ Disneyland: Dancing for a Better Tomorrowland
6-9am............ Downtown LA: Workin’ Hard for the Money
9am-12pm.... Bruin Pride: Fighting more that just our Rival
12-1pm.......... Here to Stay in LA: Spreading Awareness Beyond Today

So GET TO THINKING on what you want to dress up as and interpret these themes as creatively as you wish! Also you will have time to get things from home if need be over the holiday break.

World AIDS Day!

Yes it is finally here! World AIDS Day is upon the UCLA campus!
There are going to be 3 processions from around campus into Bruin Plaza starting to gether at around 11:30 at these locations:
1. The Hill
2. Schoenberg Hall
3. The Court of Sciences
Come gather and march with us and get a FREE SHIRT!
There will also be speakers down in Bruin Plaza from EGPAF and Camp Heartland sooo.....
HEAD TO BRUIN PLAZA on FRIDAY AT NOON!

Dance Marathon KICK-OFF

This Tuesday night is the first event hosted by DANCE MARATHON with a Kick-Off event on the HILL, in DE NEVE auditorium!
Come out for fun anD introductions of both the event and also the dancer captains.
COME MEET THE OTHER DANCERS WITH YOUR DANCER CAPTAIN... ME!!!
7:30-8:30 come check it out

ALSO come out to WORLD AIDS DAY on campus THIS FRIDAY (november 30th) with processions from all over the campus leading to Bruin Plaza where they culminatte into a celebration from 12-1
COME SUPPORT THE CAUSE with DANCE MARATHON!

Anyone for a little PRE-DM dancing?

DANCE MARATHON takes over BREWCO on THURSDAY!!!

This Thursday evening, November 15th, the top level of BREWCO will be reserved for DMers only as we spend a night uniting STUDENTS and DANCERS in the fight against pediatric AIDS. From 8pm till CLOSING!
The Westwood Brewing Company is on the corner of Glendon and Kinross.
(but you already knew that didnt you!?!)

NOT 21??? Its ok you can still hang out with us until 10pm
